Brown Sugar Balsamic Pulled Pork Sandwich
The slow-cooked pork shoulder marinated in a sweet and sour mix of brown sugar and balsamic vinegar tastes amazing. It's served on toasted buns and makes a satisfying meal.
Ingredients:
- 3 lbs pork shoulder, boneless
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried rosemary
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 8 sandwich buns
- Sliced red onions optional
- Sliced pickles optional
Instructions:
In a bowl, mix brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, dried thyme, dried rosemary, salt, and black pepper to make the marinade
Place pork shoulder in a slow cooker and pour the marinade over it
Make sure the pork is evenly coated
Cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily pulls apart with a fork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks
Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix it with the remaining juices
Split the sandwich buns and lightly toast them
Fill each bun with a generous portion of the pulled pork
Top with sliced red onions and pickles if desired
Serve warm and enjoy!
